Founding the Supreme Council of Islamic Humanities
On May 1, 2019, the policy-making committee of the International Congress on Islamic Humanities decided that it be transformed into a more inclusive organization named the “Supreme Council of Islamic Humanities”. The decision was made in light of the board range of responsibilities assumed by the permanent secretariat of the International Congress on Islamic Humanities. For this purpose, members of the policy-making committee explored ways of crafting necessary mechanisms to establish the new organization. At the end, they agreed on the “Supreme Council of Islamic Humanities”.
According to the secretariat, from now on, the congress’s policy-making committee will be the Supreme Council of Islamic Humanities’ policy-making committee. The titles of the “head” and the “secretary” of the congress’s policy-making committee also changed. And from now on, they will continue working as the head and the secretary of the Supreme Council of Islamic Humanities’ policy-making committee.
Meanwhile, the scientific council of the congress and the scientific committee of the commissions will keep performing their tasks as laid out by the constitution of the International Congress on Islamic Humanities.
As per the new organization structure, the Permanent Secretariat of the International Congress on Islamic Humanities; the Secretariat of the Global Award of Islamic Humanities; the quarterlies “Basic Research on Humanities”, “Applied Research on Islamic Humanities” and “Sadra”; the “Scientific Week of the New Islamic Civilization”; “the Innovation Center of Islamic Humanities”; “the meetings of selected lecturers of Islamic humanities”; and “the Board for Support of Theorization, Critique and Debate” of the Permanent Secretariat of the International Congress on Islamic Humanities will all work under the Supreme Council of Islamic Humanities.
