چکیده

هدف این پژوهش بررسی رابطه اضطراب مرگ با دینداری در بافت اسلامی دانشجویان ایرانی بود. بدین منظور، ابتدا منابع اسلامی مرور شد که منجر‌به ارائه فرضیه‌ای از رابطه اضطراب مرگ و دینداری در میان مسلمانان شد. در این فرضیه، دین از افکار مرتبط با آنچه پس از مرگ می‌تواند گریبان‌گیر انسان شود استفاده می‌کند تا افراد را برانگیزاند که به آموزه‌های دینی متعهد باشند و درنتیجه شرایط زندگی مطلوب در جهان دیگر را کسب کنند. این فرضیه، رابطه اضطراب مرگ و دینداری را مثبت پیش‌بینی می‌کند. ۴۰۲ دانشجو به «مقیاس نگرش مسلمانان به دین»، «مقیاس تجدید‌نظر‌شده جهت‌گیری دینی»، «مقیاس جهت‌گیری دینی جست‌وجوگری»، و «مقیاس اضطراب مرگ» پاسخ دادند. یافته‌ها نشان داد اضطراب مرگ با نگرش به دین و دینداری برونی فردی رابطه مثبت داشت. این یافته‌ها در حمایت از فرضیه پیشنهادی برآمده از منابع اسلامی تفسیر شد. نقش سازنده اضطراب مرگ در اصلاح رفتار و نقش احتمالی آن در سلامت روانی به بحث گذاشته شده است.
